Marketing Jobs for Older Workers
Any older worker who has been made redundant has probably felt a great deal of anxiety. The media is filled with stories of people who are unable to find a job, and older workers know it will be tough for them to replace the job they lost. Marketing jobs are especially hard for older workers to replace as marketing is traditionally a field filled with young people.
People losing marketing jobs after age 50 have every right to feel stressed, but it is not the end of the world. Many companies are seeing the advantages of hiring older workers who have years of experience in marketing. The stereotype of older workers who are not familiar with the latest technologies is also hanging as well. A 50 year old marketing manager is just as likely to have a Twitter account as a 20 year old.
Seasoned workers looking for marketing jobs can find these positions online. Looking for companies who value experience will let a person know who is likely to consider an older worker for an open position. The only minus is that salaries rise the longer a person is with a company. An older worker may have a tough time replacing their salary, depending on the positions they are qualified for. This is not as much of a problem for those in upper management.
